The Standalone version of Television Simulator has an integrated web server and a browser that’s configured to allow auto-playing video with audio. You can load configuration files from your local filesystem. Planned features include:

• Playback of content from your hard drive
• Starting up in full screen with a given configuration file
• Local server which provides API for changing channels and loading different configurations
• Installation and automatic updates

Advantages

If you only have one computer you’d like to run TVS on, this is a quick and easy way to get started.

Limitations

Being an Electron app, access to Google services such as Geolocation are restricted, so configuration files that include Weather will need to be modified to manually specify the user’s location.
